CS Labs controller software
Quote from robslewisjr on 24 June 2024, 20:22How does cslabs controller software compare to Mach4? Can cslabs software handle large 3d files and show the toolpath preview? Mach4 can not handle large 3d files. Any gcode file over 3 million lines makes the program crash. They told me the only way to stop their program from crashing is to disable the previewing of the 3d file. So I paid a lot of money for a defective program with no recourse to make things right. Mach4 tech support has known about this issue sonce 2017 and has never even tried to corret it. Very disappointing. I am hoping that the cslabs software is better. My computer is an i7 12400 with 32 gig of DDR5 6000mhz ram. Windows 10Pro.

Yes.
You just need to have plenty of RAM and a fast hard drive.>> Any gcode file over 3 million lines makes the program crash.
We can give you 3 months free license for simCNC and you can check it yourself
>> They told me the only way to stop their program from crashing is to disable the previewing of the 3d file.
This is a well-known method known from Mach3 😉
We have several customers who generate files of several dozen mB in size and have not noticed any problems with simCNC.>> Mach4 tech support has known about this issue sonce 2017 and has never even tried to corret it.
In my opinion, this is not a mistake, but rather an ill-considered architecture of Mach4.
I know this because our developers also faced this problem, but at the very beginning of building simCNC.

Very good equipment, it should be able to handle very large files.
