dual stepper x gantry problems
Quote from phs on 11 July 2025, 22:35I have been trying to get dual stepper x gantry to work with auto squaring of the gantry. However nothing seemed to work, or rather getting the master and slave functionality to work is no problem but homing and auto squaring is a whole different matter. It seems that the release version of simCNC does not suport this and its only supported by newer beta versions. I then tried to install a beta version following the video on this site on how to do that but the maintenance software just report that there are no updates. Then a source said that I should register my license and controller on my account using the device button but there is no such button so now I used an enormous amount of time chasing solutions that did not work and I am at a dead end. I simply have no clue how to get those beta versions installed and how to do auto squaring. Another really annoying thing is that the manual seems to be made for Mach users so the manual is quite useless if you use simCNC.

I believe I’m running an old version of simCNC (3.501).
Here’s a picture of my simCNC setup.

Quote from CS-Lab Support on 14 July 2025, 13:16The most recent simCNC release is version 3.503 at the moment. There is no newer beta release available (yet).
Additionally, there have been no changes related to slave axes functionality in the upcoming 3.600 version.Could you let me know which motion controller you are using?
If it is a CSMIO/IP-M (4-axis version), please note that the gantry geometry correction feature is not available on this model.
Gantry geometry correction is only available on the IP-S and IP-A controllers.
