[Bug] SimCNC 3.503 not reflecting setToolDiameter until G4x is executed

Hey there,

more of a bug report in the SimCNC UI I believe than anything else.

I modified the CNC plasma table editor, so I can set kerf width via setToolDiameter.

This works great, but only after G40/ G41 or G42 is executed once. Without this, the tool diameter in the UI always shows 0, and even the tool table can't change it. Interestingly enough, the tool popup shows the correct diameter, but the summary view does not.

I work around this by - on device connect, executing

d.executeGCode("G41 D1")

I'm glad there's this simple work around. Please fix this 🙂
Only happens once after start up.

Thank you for reporting this issue. The tool diameter widget in SimCNC does not display the tool’s nominal diameter, but rather the diameter currently in effect for tool compensation. Therefore, if no tool compensation is active, it will show “0.”

However, we understand that this behavior can be misleading. I’ve added your report to our internal database so we can review it more closely during future development.
