Error during Surface Map
I did some tests. I managed to reproduce the problem literally after a few moments. I invited our programmer, who deals with everything related to Mach4, to do further tests and we determined that Mach4 caused the problem. Mach4 sometimes skips the following move command after the G31 command. We will report this issue to the Mach4 developers today along with a video showing the issue.
To temporarily work around the problem, repeat the command twice after the G31 command:
M40 (Begins a probe log file, when the window appears, enter a name for the log file such as "RawProbeLog.txt")
G0 Z0.5

G31 Z-1 F30
G0 Z0.5

Many thanks for looking into this and reaching a conclusion so quickly, also for passing your results to NFS. Please let us know if you get a useful response from them.
The only thing that puzzles me is why everything seems to work without issue using the Ethernet Smooth Stepper: this is what prompted me to contact yourselves rather than NFS in the first place.

The manufacturers of Smooth Stepper may know something that NFS has not yet published in the developer documentation.
Our programmers have looked into the problem and have nothing to complain about, so we must wait patiently for a response.
